Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 8 LIVE: Hello and welcome to ABP LIVE’s coverage of Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 8 action. India added two more medals to its kitty on Day 7 of CWG 2022 to make the medal tally count 20 so far. India further looks to have a medal haul as the most awaited Indian wrestling contingent starts their campaign in Birmingham Games 2022 today. Seven boxers have assured medals after reaching the semifinals of their respective weight categories but the colour of the medals is to be determined.

On Day 8, Rio Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik will headline the women’s wrestling campaign in the 62 kg category whereas veteran wrestler Bajrang Punia will spearhead the men’s contingent in the 65 kg freestyle event. Anshu Malik (57kg), Divya Kakran (68kg), Deepak Punia (86kg) and Mohit Grewal (125kg) will also be in action today.

Indian women’s hockey team will search for a finals berth as they take on Australia in the semifinal. Having qualified for the semis by clocking 23.42 seconds, Hima Das will also be in action in the Women’s 200m semifinal event today.
