Committee of Bar Council of India is coming to Calcutta to investigate the riot incident in the High Court

The Bar Council of India formed a 3-member committee to investigate the incident of rioting and rioting before the bench of Justice Rajashekhar Manthar at Calcutta High Court. They will come to Kolkata and investigate the incident. Manan Kumar Mishra, chairman of the Bar Council, said that if anyone is found guilty in the investigation, his license to practice law will be revoked.

An organization called Lawyers for Justice submitted a memorandum to the Bar Council regarding the violence in front of Justice Manthar Ajlas. Leader of the organization Kabir Shankar Bose said, ‘We drew the attention of the Bar Council. The Bar Council took swift action and formed a 3-member committee to investigate the incident. They have been asked to submit the report by Tuesday.

Bar Council Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra said, ‘We came to know about this through social media. We decided to intervene in the matter after the lawyers appealed to us. A committee of 3 members has been formed to investigate this incident. Any complaint against the judge could have been reported to the Chief Justice. Or there are other forums for filing complaints under the law. But the chaos that has been created does not suit the legal profession. Such people are not fit to join the legal profession. We feel that the reason they protested has nothing to do with the court. If anyone is found guilty in the investigation, we will take strict action against him.’

Lawyer and BJP leader Kabir Shankar Bose said, ‘Supreme Court has recently taken strict action in this similar case in Odisha High Court. We will report the incident to Calcutta High Court in that case and we will demand the court’s intervention.’
