CM Manohar Lal while giving a press conference.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal besieged the Punjab and Delhi governments over the floods. He said that there has been a natural calamity since last one week. The average rainfall of previous years has been 145 MM, but this time it rained 245 MM.

The matter was under control in our province, but it rained more in the neighboring states. Water came to us from hilly areas, due to which damage was done in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.

Himachal has suffered more damage than Haryana. That’s why we are ready to help. He talked to the present CM Sukhwinder Sukhu and former CM there. People trapped in Manali were rescued and evacuated and the Himachal government has also been assured of help. Some things need to be done by rising above politics.

The fast flowing water goes only in the rivers
He said that every barrage has a capacity, water is diverted below that capacity. When the water comes in excess, the flow of the canals is stopped. If that way is opened, it breaks the canals. That’s why water moves forward with its natural flow. Rivers are of natural flow.

Damage caused by Yamuna and Ghaggar river
The damage from Yamuna river due to flood started from Yamunanagar. After this there was damage in Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, then Delhi and later in Faridabad and Palwal. On the other hand, talking about Ghaggar, Markanda, Tangri and Saraswati rivers together make the flow fast. Its first damage was done in Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Fatehabad and Sirsa districts.

30 people and 110 animals died
CM told that according to the information received so far, 30 people have lost their lives. Whereas 1383 villages have been affected. 133 houses collapsed completely and 184 houses were also damaged. At the same time, 110 animals died and about 20 thousand poultry have been damaged. Due to flood, 5400 people have been evacuated from the villages, who have been kept in relief camps.

Water filled in 1.60 lakh hectares
He informed that one lakh 60 thousand hectare (about 4 lakh acres) has been waterlogged. It cannot be said that there will be loss in the entire area, but it will be possible to recover after the water level recedes in some areas. Considering the loss that will happen, there is a compensation portal for the farmers. The survey of that loss will be done later. NDRF and Army have also been sent to the flood affected areas.

Reversal on the statement of Punjab CM
Countering the statement of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Manohar Lal said that Punjab can neither give nor stop water. Punjab’s water came in the incomplete SYL and it submerged Ambala and Kurukshetra districts, but we did not blame anyone. Told the CM of Punjab that a person sitting on a constitutional post should never make light jokes.

Water comes from natural flow. When it comes to doing this damage, what is the theory that we will drown our districts and then drown Delhi. If there is damage due to the water of Yamuna river, then only the districts of Haryana get submerged first. After that went to Delhi. After Delhi, there was damage in Palwal and Faridabad as well. He has given the statement to defame Haryana.

Haryana is giving its share of 320 cusecs of water to Delhi
He said that Haryana cannot harm anyone. Yes it can help someone. When water is needed in Delhi too, Haryana gives its share of water to Delhi. The share in Delhi water is 750 cusecs, whereas they are being given 1070 cusecs of water. Additional 320 cusecs of water is being given.

Called the Delhi government shameless
The Supreme Court has said that the drinker has the first right on water, but has given instructions to pay for extra water. The CM said that the shamelessness of the Delhi government is that they do not pay for the additional 320 cusecs of water. If something is being taken from someone, then it should be paid for.

Illegal construction of Yamuna will be investigated
CM Manohar Lal said that 3 lakh cusecs of water has gone to Delhi, but he could not take out this water, it means that Yamuna was not maintained. Illegal construction took place in the Yamuna area. Due to which the water is blocked. That’s why an inquiry has been set up to check the entire system.

Anurag Dhanda hit back at the CM
Senior Vice President of Aam Aadmi Party Anurag Dhanda hit back on CM Khattar’s statement in the ITO barrage case. He said that the Delhi government had written a letter to repair the barrage in 2022. CM Khattar has shown shamelessness by ignoring the loss of farmers. He tweeted and wrote that now if you have a little shame left, apologize for this lie of yours, otherwise everyone will know who the Joker is.
