Swapna Suresh, one of the accused in the gold smuggling ring, on Tuesday leveled serious allegations against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Bijayan and members of his family, including several bureaucrats. Meanwhile, a couple of days ago, he had expressed fears of murder. This time he gave a statement to the magistrate in Kochi in 184 CRPC.
As he left the court, he said the chief minister was aware of everything. I told the court the role of his family members, the role of Amla M Shivashankar, Nalini Netto, former minister KT Jalil, CM Rabindran’s personal secretary.
He said the incident started in 2016 when the Chief Minister was going to the UAE. I was then the secretary of the consulate. The chief secretary said the CM forgot to take a bag. That has to be brought to Dubai. Then I sent it to Dubai with a diplomat. Then the scan shows that there is money in the bag.

Meanwhile, he was released from jail in November last year after serving 16 months in jail. He was arrested by the CBI in 2020 on charges of hiding 30 kg of gold in bathroom fittings. He was working as an advisor in the government space park at the time of his arrest. Shivashankar was later arrested by the ED.
Regarding the allegations, the chief minister’s office said the government had sought an inquiry from the central agency. People will reject all these allegations of an accused.
