Maharashtra’s political crisis recently took an unexpected turn when rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde was announced as the Chief Minister of the state by Devendra Fadnavis. As Mr. Shinde became the state CM, Mr. Fadnavis is his deputy. Following the Hindutva ideology, Eknath Shinde is hopeful to safeguard the interests of Hindus, and also take Maharashtra to newer heights.

As Eknath Shinde took the charge, he and Mr. Fadnavis met India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence. While meeting the PM on the auspicious occasion of Ekadashi, Mr. Shinde offered the deity of Pandharpur Vitthal Rukmini as a token of love to him. Walking on Narendra Modi’s footprints, Eknath Shinde took his blessings and is working towards the development of the state.

It is encouraging to see Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis come together in support of the Hindutva ideology. Moreover, during the Thackeray-led government, around 40 Shiv Sena MLAs and 10 independents walked out of the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi, an alliance formed with Congress and NCP, last month accusing Thackeray of changing from the ideals of party founder Balasaheb Thackeray.

Looking at the future of politics in India, Maharashtra has now a powerful CM as Eknath Shinde. Mr. Shinde had earlier even stated that the MVA government could not take firm decisions on Hindutva and other sensitive issues in the state. As Eknath Shinde sought blessings from Narendra Modi, he took to his Twitter sharing a picture with Devendra Fadnavis and PM Modi.

Interestingly, hours after tweeting the picture, #hindutvawarriors started trending on Twitter. On top of it, Eknath Shinde’s journey as a politician has got everyone’s attention. In the past, he was an auto-rickshaw driver, and now as the Chief Minister of the state, Eknath Shinde has envisioned taking Maharashtra to a new level.

Currently, Mr. Shinde-led government has several projects for the state like Samruddhi Expressway connecting Mumbai and Nagpur and metro rail in cities.
