Girl students were thrashed in a hostel of Betul on the allegation of theft. He was paraded in the hostel wearing a garland of shoes. They were also made to dance by blackening their faces. The matter pertains to Kasturba Gandhi Girls Hostel of Tribal Welfare Department of Damjipura. The victim is scared after the incident. He refused to return to the hostel. The Collector has spoken of strict action after investigation in this matter.
Korku society warned of agitation
After the matter came to light, the Korku Samaj Sangathan and the girl’s family members reached the collectorate on Tuesday. Collector Amanveer Singh Bains has ordered an inquiry into the matter on the complaint of the family. He assured that after investigation, the concerned employee would be suspended. The superintendent accused of stealing 400 rupees
A student studying in fifth said- This is from last Sunday. Hostel superintendent Sunita Uike accused five girl students of theft. I was also involved in these. First of all, the superintendent garlanded us with shoes and slippers. After this, all the rooms of the hostel were rotated. We were assaulted during the night. Mascara, lipstick, powder were applied. Our hair was opened. After this we were asked to dance. When he refused to dance, he was again beaten. We were accused of stealing Rs 400. We didn’t steal anything, yet we were humiliated and tortured.

Among us five girl students, another girl from my class was made an accused. Apart from this, one girl student each of class 7th and 8th was also tortured.

The student’s father told that the daughter is very scared. She says- I don’t want to go to the hostel anymore. I don’t want to read now When we spoke to the superintendent, she accepted the mistake. I asked madam – why did you do this? If the daughter had stolen, she would have told me that I would have given the money. Madam said – He had stolen some girl’s money. We have complained to SDM and Collector.
