Bhaskar reporter present on the spot spoke to Jodhpur Commissioner Navjyoti Gogoi. Gogoi denied the reports of stone pelting and violence, dismissing media reports. He said that there was a minor clash between the two groups here. Two people have been injured in this, in which the condition of one is serious. One person has been taken into custody. More than 300 policemen have been deployed on the spot. Situation is normal now.

Gogoi told- There was a dispute between two communities on Tuesday night in the Sursagar area, which is considered very sensitive in Jodhpur city. Here at Rajaram Circle, a fight broke out between two people of a community over some issue. It was difficult for a person from another community to intervene. People of other community attacked the person who went to intervene. After this the matter took the form of a quarrel between the two communities. Even before this, there has been a clash between people of two communities on the day of Ram Navami and Eid in Jodhpur last month.

The matter caught on
According to the police, a man from a community was creating a ruckus at Rajaram Circle after consuming alcohol. During this some people of the same community started beating him. The youth who supplied the water camper sitting there tried to get rid of it. After this, people of other community started beating him, leaving the drunkard. because of this he was heavily wounded. After this the matter gained momentum. People from both sides came face to face.

Even before this matter could be settled, a young man was passing through a community locality on a bike. There some people beat him up. After this the people of both the communities got angry. The people of both the groups came face to face. Police Commissioner Navjyoti Gogoi said – The situation is under control. There has been no incident of stone pelting.
