Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Justice NV Ramana on Friday said that filling vacant posts of courts is necessary to strengthen the judiciary. He said, we have to strengthen the judiciary infrastructure and fill the vacant posts, because access to justice will be possible only when there are no courts and basic facilities. We also have to strengthen the lower courts.

Not a single post remained vacant in the courts
Expressing concern over the delay in getting justice, the CJI said that as many vacancies of judges should be filled as possible. I do not want a single judge’s post to remain vacant in the District Court, High Court or Supreme Court. I am trying my best to fill the vacant positions. The judicial system also has to be strengthened. Right now many parts of the country do not even have the basic infrastructure to get justice.

Evaluation from target
