The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and guidelines for CBSE Board Exam 2024 practicals of Classes 10 and 12. Students and stakeholders can review the guidelines on the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in. Practical examinations for both Class 10 and Class 12 are scheduled to take place between January 1 and February 14, 2024. Meanwhile, the theory exams are scheduled to take place from Feb 15 to April 2.
According to the official notice from CBSE, “To bring in uniformity of instructions and to ensure the correctness of procedures Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the conduct of practical examinations/ project/ internal assessment of both the classes have been prepared by the Board.”
The Practical Examinations/Project/Internal Assessments are conducted by all the schools as per the rules outlined in the Scheme of Studies/Examination Bye-Laws prescribed by CBSE. Some schools have made significant errors and later requested result changes. Therefore, schools are now instructed to strictly follow the board’s instructions to avoid such issues.
Here are some key points to note:
1. Schools are required to upload the marks for practical examinations simultaneously, starting from the respective dates of the exams. It is crucial to complete the uploading process by the deadline for each class. Once marks are uploaded, no corrections will be permitted.
2. Practical answer books for Class 10 will not be provided by the Board. Schools are responsible for making the necessary arrangements for these materials. After the exams conclude, the practical answer books need not be sent to the regional office.
3. The Board will appoint external examiners for each school to oversee the practical examinations and project assessments in specific subjects.
4. Payments for all individuals involved in the examination process are to be processed through the Integrated Payment System unless otherwise instructed.
5. In cases where schools fail to comply with the directives issued by the Board, CBSE reserves the right to cancel the practical examination.
6. Practical Examinations/Project/ Internal Assessments for Classes 10 and 12 regular students sponsored through L.O.C. will happen based on their eligibility. If any student’s name is missing from the subject list, the school should quickly get in touch with the regional office.
7. If students are caught trying to influence examiners or using any unfair methods during exams, they will be considered to have used unfair means. Examiners must immediately report such cases, providing all details, documents, and witnesses to the concerned regional office.
