The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023, for aspirants seeking admission into Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other affiliated institutions, is presently underway in three shifts. The CAT 2023 scores garnered by candidates will serve as the primary criterion for securing admission into diverse management programmes.

In accordance with the CAT 2023 information bulletin, the result of the examination is expected to be released by IIM Lucknow during the second week of January 2024. Aspiring candidates can access their results on the official CAT 2023 website, iimcat.ac.in, or may receive individualised scorecards via SMS.

“The CAT 2023 score is valid only till December 31, 2024 and will accordingly be accessible on the website. Thereafter, no queries related to the issuance of CAT 2023 scorecards will be entertained,” read the information bulletin.

Furthermore, the release date for the CAT 2023 answer key will be disclosed subsequent to the completion of the examination. Candidates are granted the opportunity to scrutinise provisional answers and submit objections within a designated timeframe. This process incurs a prescribed fee per questioned item, as determined by the examination authority.

Based on the challenges posed to the CAT 2023 answer key, IIM Lucknow will subsequently release the final version. The results, presented in the form of CAT 2023 percentiles, will be based on factors such as the difficulty level of exam slots, the number of candidates, and other pertinent considerations.

It’s noteworthy that a normalisation process will be employed by the examination authority to ascertain the percentile ranking of each candidate, ensuring fairness in evaluation.

The CAT 2023 was conducted in three slots on November 26. Each slot exam featured three sections — Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). According to experts, the slot 1 paper was more complex when compared to last year’s paper. The morning slot was more challenging than the other two slot papers held in CAT 2023, students said.
