Car Snatched, Fir Lodged After 3 Days | Noida News – Times of India

GREATER NOIDA: A gang of four people allegedly kidnapped a 23-year-old man last week and dumped him near Faridabad after snatching his car. He has alleged that the Haryana Police initially refused to file a complaint claiming that the incident had taken place in Uttar Pradeshbut eventually a case was filed at Surajpur police station after three days.
Vaibhav Mishra is a resident of Purvanchal Heights society in Greater Noida, police said. His father, BK Singh, who is the vice-president of operations at a private university in Sonipat told TOI that on March 8, his son had gone out for a haircut and was on his way back home when the incident took place.
“Around 6pm that day, my son was driving a black Scorpio. As he got into the service lane near Omaxe Mall, a speeding Swift Dzire overtook him and stopped in front of him. Two people got out of the car and pointed a gun at him and took him hostage for over two hours,” he said.
“They asked Vaibhav to drive towards the peripheral expressway and stopped the car in Faridabad. There they asked him to get out of the car and when he refused, he was threatened with the gun. He was forced out of the car and the accused fled with the Scorpio,” said Singh.
Vaibhav then ran towards the main road and requested a biker to take him to the nearest police station. Over there, he also met the pradhan of the village where he was dumped by the accused. The pradhan and his associates took him to the location where he was dumped.
On the way, they found the car parked at the roadside. But as they got close to the car, the accused started the engine and tried to flee.
The pradhan chased them in a car for a few kilometres, but then the accused managed to escape. BK Singh also claimed that the Haryana Police initially refused to lodge a case.
“My son had gone to the nearest police station in Faridabad but they refused to lodge the case and told my son that the incident took place in Greater Noida, so he should go to UP Police. I reached there and after five hours, we came to Surajpur police station where cops registered a complaint. But they lodged the case on March 11 only,” he said.
Avdesh Pratap, SHO of Surajpur police station said that on the basis of the complaint, an FIR has been lodged against unknown persons under Section 392 (robbery) of Indian Penal Code.
“While checking CCTV footage, we found some videos in which the suspects can be seen. But their faces are not clear in the footage,” he said.
