Alliance in the field for the first time

In Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh has contested all the recent elections from the Congress. Where he was once the Punjab President of the Congress and sometimes the Chief Minister. This is the first time that he is contesting elections in alliance with the BJP. Veteran leader Sukhdev Dhindsa’s SAD (United) is also involved in the alliance with him. Of these, BJP has declared candidates on 35, Captain Amarinder Singh’s party Punjab Lok Congress 22 and SAD combined 14 seats.
