BJP leader Amit Malviya claimed that Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel was busy playing the game on his mobile phone during a poll-related Congress meeting as he knows his party will not retain power

Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday hit back at the BJP and its leaders for trolling him over playing ‘Candy Crush’, at a poll-related Congress meeting. A photograph of the chief minister playing the popular tile-matching game, known to be a stress-buster and an addiction alike, was shared by BJP leader Amit Malviya and other state leaders on X (formerly Twitter). Baghel replied to the swipe saying Candy Crush is his favourite game and he likes playing it after dinner, adding that “right now, I am at 4,400” referring to the level.

“Earlier, the BJP had objection that why do I ride a cart, why do I ride a bumblebee, why do I play gilli danda, why are Chhattisgarh Olympics being held in the state? Got photo before a meeting yesterday in which I’m playing Candy Crush. Now BJP has objection to that. In fact, they have objection to my existence. But it is the people of Chhattisgarh who decide who will stay and who will not. I will also ride the cart and play gilli danda. Candy Crush is also my favourite. I have passed the level well, that will also continue. Rest of Chhattisgarh knows who to bless,” he posted on X.

Malviya claimed that Baghel was busy playing the game on his mobile phone during a Congress meeting over the selection of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections as he knows his party will not retain power in the state. He said the CM was “relaxed” and instead of paying attention to the meeting, he thought it appropriate to play Candy Crush.

“Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is also relaxed, he knows that no matter how much he fights, the government will not come. Perhaps that is why instead of paying attention to the meeting related to Congress candidate selection, he thought it appropriate to play CANDY CRUSH. ”

Baghel also called out former CM Raman Singh for taking a swipe at him, saying while he is only crushing candies, the public is going to crush “kamishankhors” again. “How cute dr sahab! Kaise kar lete hein aap ye sab? Koi tonic wagarah lete hein kya? “With Family and Extended Family” 15 saal tak “Kamishankhori ka Commonwealth” khelne wale ab aisi baatein karenge? Don’t worry! I am crushing only candies, but public is going to crush Kamishankhors again.. I don’t take any stress. I play Candy Crush after dinner. Yesterday, right after dinner, we went to the meeting at Maharaj Saheb @TS_SinghDeo ji’s house. Before the meeting started, my game was Continue from the car itself,” he said on X.

The CM’s picture is said to be taken during the Congress screening committee meeting, which took place at Rajiv Bhavan, the party’s state office, in capital Raipur late on Tuesday. Congress state incharge Kumari Selja, state party chief Deepak Baij and other leaders were seen in the meeting while chairman of the screening committee Ajay Maken and some other members attended the meet virtually.

The Chhattisgarh assembly polls will be held in two phases on November 7 and 17 and votes will be counted on December 3. The ruling Congress in the state has, so far, not declared any candidate for polls to the 90-member state assembly. The BJP has so far declared names of its candidates for 85 seats.
