PM Modi To Culminate BJP’s Parivartan Yatra In Chhattisgarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to grace the concluding ceremony of two ‘Parivartan Yatras’ organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bilaspur, a city in the poll-bound state of Chhattisgarh. This will mark the Prime Minister’s third visit to the Congress-ruled state, where assembly elections are scheduled to take place later this year.

The prime minister will take centre stage at the ‘Parivartan Mahasankalp’ rally, which marks the culmination of the two Parivartan Yatras. The event is scheduled for 2 pm on Saturday and will be held at the Science College ground in Bilaspur, State BJP chief Arun Sao said, as per news agency PTI.

The first Parivartan Yatra commenced on September 12 from Dantewada in southern Chhattisgarh, while the second set off from Jashpur in the north of the state on September 15, according to Sao. These extensive journeys encompassed a distance of over 3,000 kilometres, traversing 87 out of the total 90 assembly segments in the state. Both Yatras were marked by 83 ‘Swagat Sabhas’ (welcome gatherings), four roadshows, and numerous public meetings.

Notably, the constituencies of Bijapur, Sukma, and Antagarh, all of which are affected by Maoist activities, were excluded from the Yatras’ itineraries. However, residents of these areas actively participated in the Yatras as they passed through neighbouring constituencies.

Rahul Gandhi To Address First Public Rally In Poll-Bound MP

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address his first public rally in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh on September 30. The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) confirmed that Rahul Gandhi will be addressing the rally in Kalapipal constituency, situated in Shajapur district, news agency IANS reported.

MPCC general secretary Rajiv Singh revealed that Rahul Gandhi’s choice to begin his campaign in Kalapipal holds special significance. In 2018, the people of Madhya Pradesh extended their overwhelming support to him, ultimately leading to the formation of a Congress government after a hiatus of 15 years. Further details regarding Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming public rallies in Madhya Pradesh will be decided once the official poll dates are announced, according to Rajiv Singh.
