PM Modi To Address Bharat Mobility Global Expo Today: 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at India’s largest and first-of-its-kind mobility exhibition, Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, on Friday at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

It will showcase the country’s capabilities across the entire mobility and automotive value chains, with exhibitions, conferences, buyer-seller meetings, state sessions, a road safety pavilion, and public-centric attractions such as go-karting, according to an official statement.

The expo, which will feature over 800 exhibitors from 50 countries, will focus on cutting-edge technologies, sustainable solutions, and mobility breakthroughs, according to the organisers.

Over 28 vehicle manufacturers will participate in the expo, as will more than 600 auto component manufacturers. Over 1,000 brands from over 13 global markets will showcase their entire range of products, technologies, and services at the event, the statement said.

President Murmu To Inaugurate Surajkund International Crafts Mela On Friday: 

The Rashtrapati Bhavan announced on Thursday that President Droupadi Murmu will visit Faridabad, Haryana, on Friday to inaugurate the Surajkund International Crafts Mela.

The mela will take place from February 2 to 18, showcasing regional and international crafts and traditions.

President Murmu will visit Surajkund on Friday to inaugurate the Surajkund International Crafts Mela-2024, according to the statement.

SC To Hear JMM leader Hemant Soren’s Plea Against Arrest In Money Laundering Case: 

On Friday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear former Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM leader Hemant Soren’s petition challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case.

Soren, who was arrested on Wednesday night after resigning as Jharkhand chief minister, had initially filed a petition with the state high court challenging his arrest in the case.

Acting Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Anubha Rawat Choudhary of the Jharkhand High Court were scheduled to hear Soren’s petition at 10.30 AM on Thursday.

Mamata Banerjee To Stage Dharna Today Over Bengal’s Dues: 

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is preparing to stage a dharna in Kolkata beginning Friday in protest of the Centre’s alleged withholding of the state’s dues, adding to the already charged political atmosphere.

The issue of the Centre withholding dues, particularly under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), has escalated into a major political controversy in West Bengal.

BMC To Present Its Budget For FY 2024-25 Today: 

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will present its budget for fiscal year 2024-25 on February 2 at its headquarters here, according to an announcement made Wednesday.

Like last year, additional municipal commissioners will present the budget to civic commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, who has served as the BMC administrator since March 2022, when the term of corporators expired.

Typically, the municipal commissioner presents the budget to the BMC’s standing committee; however, because the term of corporators expired on March 7, 2022, this is the second year that the civic body’s budget will be presented to the administrator.

Amrit Udyan Open Today: 

A 225-year-old Sheesham tree, a floral clock, and a selfie station are among this year’s highlights at the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s renowned Amrit Udyan, which will open to the public on Friday.

“Bookings to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan have already begun. As many as 50,000 people have booked to visit Amrit Udyan’, Navika Gupta, the President’s Deputy Press Secretary, told PTI on Wednesday.

President Droupadi Murmu will open the ‘Udyan Utsav 2024’ event at Amrit Udyan on Thursday, she said.

Gupta also stated that a free shuttle bus service from the Central Secretariat metro station is available for visitors’ convenience.
