Himachal BJP To Conduct ‘Langar’ In Ayodhya For Two Months From Today:

The Himachal Pradesh BJP will set up a ‘langar’ (community kitchen) in Ayodhya for the next two months, from January 26 to March 26, for devotees visiting the Ram temple, a party spokesperson said on Thursday.

The preparations to open the community kitchen in Ayodhya began a few days ago, he told PTI.

“After getting permission to set up the langar, a truck carrying 18 tonnes of ration, collected with public cooperation, was sent from Una’s Gagret to Ayodhya last evening,” a spokesperson for the government said told PTI.

“With the cooperation of the people, arrangements have been made to send another truck full of ration,” he went on to say.

Rajesh Thakur, the Himachal BJP secretary and former MLA of Gagret, is in charge of the langar arrangements, he said. “The langar will be cooked and served by the people of Himachal Pradesh,” the spokesperson said.

Ex-BJP MLA To Lead Peace March In Maharashtra’s Thane On Friday

Against the backdrop of recent violence in parts of Maharashtra’s Thane district, local BJP leader and former MLA Narendra Mehta has announced that the ‘Sriram Tiranga Shanti Yatra’ will be held there on January 26, according to PTI.

According to the report, Mehta, who previously represented the Mira Bhayander assembly constituency, spoke to reporters on Wednesday night and encouraged people from all communities to participate in the peace march.

He stated that the yatra will pass through the Golden Nest area of Mira Road, Naya Nagar, Hyderi Chowk, and Mira Road Station.

Four days ago, a communal clash broke out in the Muslim-dominated Naya Nagar neighbourhood.

Thane, a district with a rich religious and cultural history, has recently experienced unrest, posing significant challenges to the local administration.

On Tuesday, unidentified individuals targeted shops in Kashimira, Naya Nagar, and Navghar, escalating tensions following the consecration of Lord Ram’s idol in Ayodhya.

The incident occurred following heightened tensions in the area, where celebratory processions and commercial establishments had been targeted for violence.
