Brain tumor operation without incision: Doctors of IGMC Shimla claim – did this for the first time, success with endoscopy technique

Doctors of Neuro Surgery Department of Himachal’s largest hospital IGMC have successfully operated brain tumor without tearing. Doctors claim that this has happened for the first time. Brain tumor was successfully operated without incision. Using modern endoscopy techniques, the doctors took out the tumor from the brain through the patient’s nose.

Till now the operation was done through incision
Till now, doctors of the neuro department had to do a major operation to operate on brain tumour. The brain had to be separated by opening the entire head, but now doctors have succeeded in removing brain tumors without tearing. This successful operation at IGMC was done by Dr. Viplav Singh and Dr. Digvijay Singh Thakur, assistant professors of the Department of Neurosurgeon.

Mandi’s 64-year-old man’s operation
Assistant Professor Dr. Viplav Singh said that the operation was done without incision on a 64-year-old patient, a resident of Mandi district. This patient came to him in early January. The patient had headache and some other problems. Got a CT scan done, in which it was found that the patient has a brain tumour. Through endoscopy, we reached the tumor and removed the tumor through the nose. He says that the patient is completely healthy now.
