Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji says he didn’t think the film would ever be made: ‘Thought I would die making it’ – Henry Club

Talking about Brahmastra, Ayan said, “The concept of our film is about astras, weapons of light and power that were made in ancient India, but are preserved in modern India. The combination of contemporary setting with Indian spirituality, I don’t think has happened anywhere else in the world. Now we are 100 days away from Brahmastra. I can’t believe it.”

He continued, “For many years I thought that this film would never be made and I would die making Brahmastra. So many people asked me why the film was taking so long, and why it was so expensive. They asked me to Asked to make another romantic film. But, I always believed, if we get Brahmastra right, it will be very pioneering for our country. The film will get a huge audience in the country. That energy has generated many positives. Things have happened.” Ayan also said that ‘Urja’ led him to filmmaker SS Rajamouli. “It brought me to the person who had made a film that broke all barriers and set a new standard for cinema in India. That energy has brought me to Vizag today through SS Rajamouli.” The director also praised Telugu cinema, saying it is the ‘best’ in the country.

Brahmastra is called trilogy. In an earlier statement about the film, Ayan Mukerji had said, “It is a modern-day film set in India as it exists today. But it is called Brahmastra because the energy, knowledge, powers in the film are from ancient India.” Come on. All I will say is. The first part of the trilogy will hit the theaters on September 9 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
