An explosion took place at a firecracker factory near Usilambatti in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai district on Thursday. The factory caught fire after the explosion. In this accident, 5 workers working in the factory died, while about 10 workers were injured. An official of Sindhupatti police station said that the blast was so strong that the bodies of 5 workers working in the factory were blown up to pieces.

Cause of explosion not known
On getting information about the accident, fire brigade and police team reached the spot. SP Madurai has confirmed the accident. He said the reason for the explosion is not yet known. Investigation is on, the reason will be known soon. The deceased have been identified as Ammavasi, Vallarasu, Gopi, Vicky and Prema. At the same time, the condition of the injured in the accident also remains critical.

7 laborers died in September
Earlier in September, a firecracker factory exploded in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. In which 7 laborers died while many laborers were injured. Earlier in July, there was an explosion at the Neyveli Lignite Power Plant. 5 people died in this accident, while 17 people were injured.
