1- Game changer stature in politics
For the first time in the year 1991, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh reached the Parliament after winning the Lok Sabha elections against Anand Singh.
Brij Bhushan Singh has been in politics since the 90s. He was also involved in the Ram Mandir movement. In 1991, he was first elected MP from BJP. Brij Bhushan was already popular in the region due to student politics and Janmabhoomi movement. His mass base gradually increased in the area. At present, Brij Bhushan is said to have a strong hold on 6 to 8 Lok Sabha and about 20 to 22 assembly seats in UP. These include the districts of Balrampur, Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti, Ayodhya, Siddharthnagar, Santakbir Nagar etc.
Brij Bhushan has been a Member of Parliament for 6 times so far. They also have more than 50 schools and colleges in Gonda-Balrampur and surrounding districts. Both supporters and opponents of Brij Bhushan believe that he has the power to directly influence elections in some seats.
In elections, they campaign with their own strength, not the party. He has his own cadre, who are more devoted to him than to the party. This is the reason why the BJP does not want to take any direct action on Brij Bhushan, because the general elections are round the corner and the party does not want to send a wrong message to Brij Bhushan and his cadre by taking tough steps against him.
2- Fear of joining the SP camp
Brij Bhushan Singh was in SP before joining BJP. Brij Bhushan was considered close to Mulayam Singh.
Brij Bhushan has also won MP once from SP. Till a few days ago, there was a lot of talk in the political circles that if BJP takes action against him, he can join SP. Brij Bhushan Sharan is also very close to SP. He had joined the BJP before the 2014 elections.
Brij Bhushan is never even a direct attacker against Akhilesh. Two months ago, Brij Bhushan had said, ‘I thank Akhilesh Yadav, I have known him since childhood, I am older than him. We have political differences too, but Akhilesh knows the truth. If there are 10,000 wrestlers in UP, then out of that 8,000 wrestlers are from the Yadav community and belong to the Samajwadi family. That’s why Akhilesh knows the truth.

If the allegations on Brij Bhushan Sharan are proved correct and he is sentenced by the court, then he will not be in a position to join any party. BJP also wants the same. The party also wants Brij Bhushan to resign on his own.
3- Thakur leader and big vote bank
Brij Bhushan is a picture of Sharan Singh’s student politics days. His fan following is also good on social media.
Rajput (Thakur) voters in UP are up to 6-7 percent. After independence, there have been 5 CMs from this community in UP. Two Thakur leaders of UP have reached the chair of the Prime Minister. After the Brahmins, the Thakurs have the maximum hold on the power. From this one can understand the stature of Thakur leaders in UP politics.
The image of Brijbhushan Sharan Singh is also that of a hot-tempered Thakur leader. His fan following is also fine. The top leadership of BJP also believes that if the party takes any direct action against Brij Bhushan, then its vote bank can be affected, which the party cannot buy at any cost.
Brij Bhushan is closer to the central leadership than the state leadership in UP. That’s why only the high command has to take the final decision on them. Brij Bhushan is also quoting the party high command fiercely. The party had banned his speech for a few days, but times changed, Delhi Police swung into action and Brij Bhushan came forward and is now outspoken. Now on the matter of resignation, Brij Bhushan says, ‘Not only Modiji, if Home Minister Amit Shah or BJP President JP Nadda also says, then I will not delay in resigning.’
4- Good penetration in Ayodhya and saints

CM Yogi has remained silent on the movement of wrestlers and Brijbhushan Sharan Singh. Political experts give different meanings to it. It is said that Thakurs in UP and BJP are the two satraps of politics. CM Yogi Adityanath and Brij Bhushan were once considered close, but in the past days the distance between the two leaders was clearly visible. Brijbhushan family also came under the grip of bulldozer action.
Actually, Brij Bhushan had asked for tickets for the close ones in the UP assembly elections 2022, but could not get his wish. After this, during the floods in Gonda and Balrampur in 2022, Brijbhushan fiercely attacked the Yogi government. He put the Yogi government and officials in the dock.
Even in the beginning of 2023, when the Yogi government started action against the mafia, Brij Bhushan also came under target. A case of forgery was registered against Sumit Singh, son of Brijbhushan’s brother Shashibhushan Singh, in connection with the occupation of government land in Gonda. 9 people were nominated in this. Knowing politicians, they say that this is a balancing game of the BJP high command, so that power does not become unbridled.
