These posters have been put up overnight in the Congress office. Local leaders informed the police about this and lodged a complaint. After this the police came and removed the pictures from the office. Police are looking for the people who put up the pictures. At present, the situation is under police control and security in the area has been beefed up so that the matter does not escalate.
Two groups clashed over posters in Shivamogga
Poster controversy has been going on in Karnataka for the last several days. There was a clash between two groups in Shivamogga town on Monday last week. People of Hindu organization had put up a poster of Veer Savarkar in the Amir Ahmed circle here. After this Tipu Sultan’s army protested and reached with his flag.
They tried to put up posters of Tipu Sultan. The police had to lathi-charge to stop the dispute. Later Savarkar’s picture was also removed. In view of the tension in the area, Section 144 was imposed in the entire city. After this, posters of Veer Savarkar were torn in Tumakuru town here on Tuesday.

One person was stabbed during the clash
According to the information, a person was also stabbed in the Gandhi Bazar area of Shivamogga, but the police said that the stabbing happened in this case or on some other issue, it is being investigated.
The BJP and other Hindu organizations protested over the matter. They demanded that they be allowed to put up posters of Savarkar and that action should be taken against the other group for insulting Savarkar.
