Within 24 hours of the show-cause, the BJP suspended Ritesh Tiwari and Joy Prakash Majumder for their anti-party activities. A statement from the BJP’s state office on Monday evening said they had been sacked.
According to the statement, Ritesh Tiwari and Jayaprakash Majumder are being suspended from the party till the end of the probe into alleged misconduct. This directive of the President of the State is being implemented immediately.
In response to this, Ritesh said, I have been doing BJP since the Left era. At the age of 18 I became the candidate’s agent for the first time. Later, the party formed an alliance with the Trinamool. That alliance is broken. Since then, there have been multiple proposals from the grassroots to contest the polls, but the party has not given up. Those who expelled me staged a street rally in front of their house.
Ritesh claims that the show-cause sent to him does not mention how the discipline of the party was violated. In a democratic country, no one can be show-cause like this.
The state BJP made a show cause to Ritesh Tiwari and Joy Prakash Majumder on Sunday afternoon for their anti-party work. None of the two have answered the show-cause yet.
