BJP MLA pushed women police: They were protesting law and order in Odisha, Inspector said – called me a dacoit too

BJP workers were protesting outside the premises of the District Collector on Wednesday. During this, there was an altercation between him and the lady inspector.

Odisha’s BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra pushed a woman policeman. Jayanarayan had participated in the BJP’s protest in Sambalpur on Wednesday. Its video has also gone viral. However, the MLA rejected this allegation and on the contrary accused Dhanupali police station in-charge Anita Pradhan of pushing her. According to media reports, BJP workers were protesting outside the District Collector’s office over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. After the incident, complaints have been lodged from both the sides.

Inspector Pradhan told that when the BJP workers were trying to enter the premises, he tried to stop the workers. During this, Jayanarayan came in front of him and started asking who he was. The inspector said that when I revealed my identity, he accused me of taking bribe and called me a dacoit. I asked Jayanarayan why he was making such allegations against me, then he grabbed my face and pushed me.

The inspector said that when he tried to stop the workers, the BJP leaders started asking him who he was.

BJP leader said – Women police pushed me
Rejecting the allegation leveled against him, the BJP leader said that I did not push him. While women police were misbehaving with BJP women workers. When I went to the police to inquire what was the matter, one of them hit me on the leg. Jayanarayan said when I did not cross the barricade then how can I push the inspector.

But the IIC told me that I was raising slogans against the police and I pushed them. Police were accused, so they hatched such a conspiracy. I don’t even know them.

The BJP MLA said that the police was misbehaving with the BJP women workers.

Police bid – action will be taken after the report of the case
Sambalpur SP B Gangadhar said that he has sought a field report of the incident and the matter will be probed. However, the Odisha Police Service Association has spoken to the DIG demanding action against Mishra.

BJP spokesperson said – Police officers are troubling us
BJP spokesperson Lalitendu Vidyadhar said the minister was allegedly killed by a policeman in Jharsuguda district. Now a lady police officer is harassing the leader of the opposition. There is no rule of law in Odisha. We are waiting for the Chief Minister’s action on this. He said the ruling party was scared of Mishra as he was raising the law and order issue in the assembly session beginning February 21.

BJD spokesperson said- 14 cases have already been registered against Jayanarayan
BJD spokesperson Srimayi Mishra said that Jayanarayan Mishra is a habitual criminal. He has 14 cases registered against him including murder, due to which he has also gone to jail. He is known for threatening and assaulting people.
