bjp: Duty of every govt to provide foolproof security to PM: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik | Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday took strong exception to the security breach of prime minister Narendra Modi in Punjab a day before even as the BJP lit lamps in temples for Modi’s long life.
“The Prime Minister of India is an institution. It is the duty of every government to provide foolproof security and safeguard the dignity of this institution. Anything contrary should be unacceptable in our democracy,” Naveen tweeted.

Union education minister and senior BJP leader from Odisha, Dharmendra Pradhan, appreciated Naveen’s gesture. “This is how a democracy like in India should function. We all can have differing ideologies, beliefs & opinions but that can be no ground to legitimise a breach in security for the Prime Minister. Appreciate @Naveen_Odisha ji for his concern for PM Modi’s security,” Pradhan tweeted.

Union railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, state BJP president Samir Mohanty among several other BJP leaders lit lamps at the Lingaraj temple here praying for long life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi day after his security breach in Punjab.
