1. Highest rainfall in 100 years in Ajmer, Rajasthan, heavy rains in 17 districts of MP
In Ajmer, a bike rider was swept away in a strong current. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Kota, Baran and Sawai Madhepur.
Due to the effect of Biparjoy in Rajasthan, many areas of Barmer, Pali, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Ajmer have been flooded. So far 8 people have died in the state. 100 years record was broken in Ajmer with 131.8 mm of rain in 24 hours. Earlier, on June 17, 1917, there was 119.4 mm of rain in a single day.
On the other hand, it rained in a total of 17 districts including Bhopal, Indore in MP. One and a half inch of rain was recorded in the capital Bhopal. However, the temperature in three districts of the state remained above 40 degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rains in 9 districts today. Heatweb lasted in 8 states including UP-Bihar. The maximum temperature in Nawada district of Bihar broke the record of 11 years by reaching 45.9 degree Celsius.
2. PM Modi arrives in America, President Biden and his wife will host a personal dinner
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached America on his first state visit. He is the third big leader of India, who has been invited by America for this visit. Earlier in 1963 President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and in 2009 Manmohan Singh went to America on a state visit. PM will do yoga with representatives of over 180 countries at the United Nations Headquarters today. Apart from this, President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden will host a personal dinner for PM Modi. PM Modi will be given a 21-gun salute tomorrow at the White House as a state honour.
3. Balcony collapses during Jagannath Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad, 1 killed, 38 injured
After Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra in Puri, Odisha, the country’s second largest Rath Yatra takes place at the Lord Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad.
The balcony of a two-storey building collapsed during the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad. One person died and 38 were injured in the accident. At present all the injured are out of danger. The negligence of the Municipal Corporation has come to the fore behind the accident.
Notice was to be given to dilapidated houses on Rath Yatra Marg, but even after investigation, no notice was issued for this house. After the accident, the injured were being taken to the hospital, then the team of the municipality reached home with the notice.
4. China saved 26/11 terrorist, Sajid Mir was to be declared Global Terrorist
China has blocked the proposal to declare Sajid Mir, wanted Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist in Mumbai 26/11 attack, as a global terrorist. The US had presented this proposal at the 1267 Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee meeting of the United Nations Security Council. America had made this proposal with the support of India.
In September 2022 also, China had banned the proposal to declare Sajid as a global terrorist. Sajid Mir was giving instructions on phone to Ajmal Kasab and other terrorists during the attack in Mumbai. India narrated its audio in the UNSC meeting in 2022 as evidence. Kasab, the terrorist who was caught alive, had also named Sajid Mir among his associates.
5. Central forces will be deployed in every district of Bengal, SC upholds High Court’s decision
More than 100 bombs were hurled during clashes between two TMC factions in Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district on June 13.
The Supreme Court has ordered the deployment of Central Forces in the Panchayat elections to be held in West Bengal on July 8. The court said that the state has a long history of violence during elections. Elections cannot be held with violence. In such a situation, the deployment of Central Force is necessary.
The court told the State Election Commission that it is your responsibility to conduct free and fair elections. You don’t have to worry about where the force will come from. The Calcutta High Court had ordered the deployment of central security forces in every district within 48 hours. Against this, the Bengal government and the State Election Commission had filed a petition in the Supreme Court.
6. Demand for army protection of Kuki tribe amid Manipur violence, SC to hear on July 3
Violence between the Kuki and Meitei communities over reservation continues in Manipur since May 3. Meanwhile, the matter of demand for giving army protection to the Kuki tribe reached the Supreme Court. The court refused to hear soon, saying that it is a matter of law and order in the state.
Here, the Manipur High Court will hear the review petition filed against its decision on 23 June. In fact, on March 27, the court directed the state government to recommend inclusion of Meitei community in ST. Since then violence broke out between the people of the Meitei and Kuki communities, which continues till now.
7. Rumors of JE absconding after Odisha train accident, Railways said – no one ran away
On June 2, Chennai-bound Coromandel Express, Howrah-bound Shalimar Express and a goods train collided at Balasore in Odisha. 291 people died and more than 1200 people were injured in the accident.
Railway has denied the news of junior engineer absconding after Odisha train accident. The CPRO of South Eastern Railway said that our entire staff is present and is cooperating in the investigation. In fact, after the CBI’s inquiry on social media, there was a rumor about the absconding of junior engineer Aamir Khan.
On June 2, 291 people died in a train accident in Balasore, Odisha. An FIR was registered in the matter on 3 June. Later, several leaders including former Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident. After the consent of the Central Government, the CBI took over the case on 7th June.
