Every village and city of the country is fighting for cleanliness and our banks are competing to be the masterminds of scams. DHFL’s latest scam of 34 thousand crores is breaking the record of many scams so far. According to the Reserve Bank, in 2021- 2022, forty thousand crore rupees of public sector banks were handed over to scams. In the financial year 2020-21, this figure was 81 thousand crores.

If we look at the famous scams of the last five-seven years, then this process started with Vijay Mallya. Poet Sampat Saral had made a sarcastic satire on this. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was engaged in cleaning the Yamuna in Delhi and Vijay Mallya took a bath in the Ganges. Bhai made the condition of 17 banks like those bathing gopis whose clothes Krishna ji climbed on the tree.

Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya's scam affected 17 banks of the country. The State Bank of India (SBI)-led consortium of banks owed a total of Rs 9,900 crore to it.

However, for the last ten years, there has been a lot of talk of reforms of banks. Corporate work culture will be brought in. Everything will be online. There will be no scope for any fraud. Even the Reserve Bank, the Finance Secretary and the Finance Minister too, whenever they keep giving big speeches, but nothing happens. It has certainly happened that instead of reforms, the speed of scams got accelerated.

The strange thing is that all the bank scams ever reported come years later. It is clearly visible, yet the banks keep on waiting for the refund of the money, so it is delayed or the officers responsible or responsible for the scam keep it suppressed till they retire, no one pays attention to this. Mallya fled abroad. Nirav Modi is also out of the country. The Wadhawan brothers, responsible for the latest 34 thousand crore scam, are definitely in jail in another scam.

Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi are accused of defrauding banks to the tune of over Rs 14,000 crore. He did this fraud in Punjab National Bank. Modi is in Britain now.

If such scams have to be curbed, then only corporate work culture will not work. Strong monitoring and rules and regulations will also have to be implemented honestly. Because there is only corporate culture in ICICI Bank. Still, there was a big scam in it, which is well known to the world. The common man keeps his life’s earnings in banks so that any calamity comes, his money will be safe here. Look from above that no matter how much money someone keeps in the bank, they do not guarantee more than one million. That is, if the bank sinks, then the one whose crores of rupees is deposited, even he will not be able to get more than ten lakhs. Before people lose faith in these scam banks, reforms have to be brought. Scams have to stop.
