Bhaskar Opinion: Whenever a kingmaker became a king in politics, he failed

There are long stories of kingmakers and kings in Indian politics. Many great personalities were kingmakers, but never became kings. Those who did, ultimately failed. Uddhav Thackeray is the latest example of those who fail by becoming king.

Chanakya is the first and most famous example among the great people who, despite being kingmakers, never got attached to power. Being a simple teacher, he overthrew King Dhanananda of Magadha from power, but never himself came to power. He made his disciple Chandragupta king.

The second and third great personalities were Gandhiji and Jayaprakash Narayan. Gandhiji stifled the British with his non-violent movement for years and finally the British had to leave India. Gandhiji could have become the head of power if he wanted, but he did not even think so.

JP showed this greatness. Vacate the throne that the public comes…. That was his slogan. His social movement made the impossible work. The Congress, especially Mrs. Indira Gandhi was ousted from power, but never came to power herself.

JP raised the slogan of vacate the throne that people come. He ousted Indira Gandhi from power through his movement, but never came to power himself.

After this, there are such examples in today’s politics as well. RSS, Balasaheb Thackeray himself and Kanshi Ram are prominent among them. They also formed governments, brought them down, but never remained in power directly.

Failed kingmakers are no less. Chandrasekhar, HD Deve Gowda and IK Gujral were also victims of political failure. Chandrashekhar’s Janata Party had only two MPs, yet he became the Prime Minister. The same thing happened. Seeing two soldiers of Haryana spying at Rajiv Gandhi’s residence, Congress got angry and Chandrashekhar had to resign from power.

The same thing happened to Deve Gowda and Gujral. No one could walk for more than one and a half years. This is what is happening with Uddhav. His father Balasaheb never directly took power in his hands. But always called government. The Thackeray government continued to be called. Breaking the tradition, Uddhav made mismatched alliances and the result is in front.

HD Deve Gowda and IK Gujral also became prime ministers but no one could run the government for more than one and a half or two years. Something similar was also the case with former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar with two MPs.

In fact, even in politics, only a closed fist is worth lakhs. Eknath Shinde has not only broken the Shiv Sena, but has also destroyed the years-old shambles of the Thackeray government. Whenever this happened earlier, furious Shiv Sainiks used to create havoc, but this time nothing like this happened.

It is understandable that he was not even a common Shiv Sainik in favor of the mismatched alliance, which, despite not being in power, considered the Thackeray family to be the government. This is the reason that in the turmoil of one-and-a-half days, the Thackeray side has laid down its arms. He has agreed with his heart that now the departure of the government is certain.
