Edible oil prices reduced by Rs 30-40, Center instructs states for rate monitoring

After the price of edible oil has come down by Rs 30-40, Department of Food and Public Distribution Secretary Dr. Sudhanshu Pandey has advised the state governments to take effective steps to ensure sale at MRP in their states.

Pandey said that the government has reduced the import duty of cooking oil to almost zero. This has reduced oil prices by 15% to 20%. All major edible oil brands have taken a cut of Rs 30-40. For example, Ruchi Soya Industries reduced the retail price of soybean oil by Rs 30 per liter to Rs 152 per litre.

Adani Wilmar has reduced the retail price of Fortune Soya oil to Rs 155 per litre. Pandey said that after deducting Rs 30-40, the state governments have been advised to take effective steps to ensure sales at MRP in their states.

UP political parties want timely elections: EC

AFSPA extended by 6 months in Nagaland
