The administration has finally taken care of the submerged NH-44 in Haryana’s Panipat district. Dainik Bhaskar had warned the administration, NHAI and the drivers, showing the situation here three days ago. It was told that due to rain, the soil of the National Highway has been submerged.

Drivers have to pass through here putting their lives at risk. This news of Bhaskar has broken the sleep of the administration. To avoid his troubles, the concerned responsible department made a temporary solution to it in a hurry.

Now the responsible department has done patch work to cover it. The top and sides of the highway are filled with soil. Soil was poured first. Then a rubber sheet was covered over it. After this again soil has been poured on top to maintain the pressure on that sheet.

By doing so, the failure of the department has been covered up initially. But a permanent solution to this also has to be done soon. Otherwise this jugaad may also fail soon.

Administration should make a permanent solution: Darshan

Darshan, a resident of Babarpur Mandi, expressed his gratitude to Dainik Bhaskar and said that the news has had an effect. But the administration has covered it with soil to avoid its misfortune. There should be a definite solution to this soon. Otherwise this clay and rubber sheet will also get spoiled soon. After which the condition will get worse.

This condition happened in just five days of rain.
Let us inform that on the New Delhi-Ambala National Highway (NH-44), which is called GT Road, soil was eroded at many places in Haryana. Due to the incessant rain for a few days, the highway was broken at many places.

The overbridge built on the National Highway in front of Babarpur Mandi towards Karnal from Panipat city had suffered heavy damage. This created the risk of an accident. When viewed from the service lane near Babarpur Mandi, there was a big hole in the overbridge of the highway. All this happened in the rainy season from 1st August to 5th August. Here the soil of the highway and overbridge was continuously collapsing.

The potholes of the highway were definitely filled, but it has not become walkable.

The potholes of the highway were definitely filled, but it has not become walkable.

Soil came on service road, traffic affected
On one hand, the traffic on the highway has been affected due to the submergence of the national highway. At the same time, the soil from the side has gradually reached the service road. Due to which slippage and water logging is increasing there.

Due to this, the risk of accidents on the service road is also increasing continuously. Due to the negligence of the officials of NHAI and Highway Construction Company, traveling in the rainy season is the most troublesome.

These states have the weight on this highway
The load of vehicles on National Highway 44 is continuously increasing. Because from here about 1.5 lakh vehicles pass daily from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat and other states.

Four toll plazas have been set up in the state of Haryana alone to collect toll tax from these vehicles. But the attention is not being paid to the convenience.
