“There will be a complete ban on slaughterhouses, animal slaughter and sale of meat on Sri Rama Navami,” Joint Director of Animal Husbandry Department of Bruhat Bengaluru Municipal Corporation said in the order. The order is based on the BBMP chief. Commissioner Gaurav Gupta’s circular on April 3
A BBMP official said that every year on Shri Ram Navami, Gandhi Jayanti, Sarvodaya Divas and other religious events, besides sale of meat and animal slaughter are banned.
There is a complete ban on these practices on various occasions for at least eight days in a year, he added.
