Reflecting on the turbulent history between his party and Kumar’s JD(U), Yadav alleged that Kumar’s apology was made in front of RJD MLAs who witnessed the gesture as well

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday claimed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had once apologised with folded hands for aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Reflecting on the turbulent history between his party and Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), Yadav alleged that Kumar’s apology was made in front of RJD MLAs who witnessed the gesture as well.

Hamare ghar jab aaye to haath jodkar maafi maang rahe the (When he came to our home, he was begging for forgiveness with folded hands),” Yadav told news agency ANI.

“He asked for forgiveness in front of all the MLAs, who were all witnesses. How many times in the House has he apologised with folded hands, admitting his mistake and vowing not to join the BJP again?,” he stated.

Yadav also ruled out any possibility of a future alliance with Kumar’s JD(U) for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

“His oath has no value. No one trusts him, as he may change his mind anytime. Twice we took pity on him and gave him life and both times he showed his real form. This time there is no meaning,” Yadav asserted.

Nitish Kumar’s Political Flip-Flops

In 2015, Kumar’s JD(U) and Yadav’s RJD formed an alliance after securing victory in the Bihar elections, with Kumar becoming Chief Minister and Yadav serving as his deputy. However, this partnership was short-lived.

In 2017, Kumar abandoned the RJD to align with the BJP, retaining his Chief Minister position. By 2022, Kumar reversed course, reuniting with the RJD after leaving the BJP. Yet, in a dramatic turn of events in January this year, Kumar returned to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
