National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) Chairman Dr. NK Arora made a big statement on Wednesday after the number of corona cases increased from 5,439 to 7,231 in a single day. He says that 90% of the corona patients who have been admitted to the hospital in the last 8 months did not take a booster dose.
Antibodies decrease in 6-8 months
Arora told that it is very important to take prescription dose. This is because antibodies begin to decrease in the body only 6 to 8 months after taking a single dose of the vaccine. This can weaken our immune system in front of the virus. According to government data, so far only 20% of the eligible people have taken the third dose of the vaccine.
The trend of transmission of corona virus is almost the same as before.
Corona infection still persists
Arora says that Corona is still around us. The transmission of the virus is also being seen in the same way. However, now we are not seeing its severe form and the death rate has come down considerably. Nevertheless, we should not relax in following the corona protocol. It is still necessary to exercise caution.
Only 12% of 18-59 year olds took prescription doses
According to statistics, 77 crore people in the age group of 18 to 59 years can take a booster dose, but only 12% of them have taken this dose. At the same time, 168 million people of frontline workers, healthcare workers and people of 60 years and above are eligible for prescription doses. Of these, only 35% have received this dose of the vaccine. The government also launched the Kovid Vaccination Amrit Mahotsav on July 15, to accelerate the campaign.

7,231 cases came in the last 24 hours
According to the report of the Union Health Ministry, 7,231 corona patients have been found in the country in the last 24 hours and 45 people have died. At present, the number of active cases is 64,667. The recovery rate has reached 98.67% and the positivity rate is 2.05%. A total of 4,44,28,393 cases have been reported in India since the beginning of the pandemic, out of which 5,27,874 people have lost their lives.
