A van coming from the wrong side collided head-on with a truck late on Sunday evening on Kisan Path, the outer ring road connecting Lucknow to Deva. Five people died while five others were injured in this gruesome accident. In the accident, the van full of wedding guests was blown away, while the truck driver ran away with the vehicle.

According to the police, a baraat from Hardoi district had come to Madarpur village of Gadia Chowki area of ​​Kotwali area. After the wedding on Sunday, 10 people involved in the wedding procession were going to Hardoi in a van. At around nine in the night, the van went on the wrong side for some time on Kisan Path in Deva Kotwali area. Two minutes later, the van collided head-on with a speeding truck that suddenly came from the front near Saihara village. The collision was so severe that the motorists walking on the road were horrified. After the accident, the traffic came to a standstill on Kisan Path. When the police reached the spot as soon as the information was received, they saw that 10 people were suffering lying on the road. All were in bloody condition.

The police pulled out the people trapped inside the damaged van with great difficulty and started sending them to the district hospital. Deva’s Kotwal Pankaj Kumar Singh said that Baijnath (48), a resident of Jamunipur village of Atrauli police station of Hardoi district, died on the spot while Chandraprabha (40), Satyendra (42), two-year-olds of Surendra, resident of Mal, Lucknow, died in the accident. Daughters Aaradhya and Kamlesh (46) were declared brought dead at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Lucknow. At the same time, the condition of 5 injured including Ravi, Pravendra and Jyotisha (30) is also critical. SP Dinesh Kumar Singh said that the injured are being treated. The relatives have been informed. The accident is said to have happened due to the arrival of the van in the wrong side. The traffic on Kisan Path was disrupted due to the accident, which was restored around 11 pm on Sunday night.
