Bank Holidays In August 2022: With the month of July coming to a close, it is important for everyone to be aware that banks will not function for almost 13 days in August. The month will witness more bank holidays than July. The coming month is filled with national and religious festivities including Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami and Independence Day.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a list of days in August on which banks will be closed on account of national or regional festivals and days of special observance.
In total, there will be a total of 13 days in August apart from the second/fourth Saturdays and Sundays when banks will remain shut in some parts of the country.
It is advised to visit banks only on days when they are open to avoid any inconvenience. However, you have nothing to worry about as online financial services will continue to function as usual.

August 8: Muharram (only Jammu and Kashmir)
August 9: Muharram (in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur and Ranchi)
August 11: Raksha Bandhan

August 13: Patriots Day (Imphal)
August 15: Independence Day
August 16: Parsi New Year (Belapur, Mumbai and Nagpur)
