The Uttarakhand government has banned the production of five medicines of Patanjali Group of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev. These medicines are manufactured by Divya Pharmacy. According to the Ayurveda and Unani Licensing Authority of Uttarakhand, the advertisement of these medicines is misleading. However, Baba Ramdev has said that he has not yet received a copy of any such order. But behind the ban on drugs, there is a conspiracy of the anti-Ayurveda drug mafia in it.

First understand what is the matter
Actually a doctor from Kerala, KV Babu had complained in July. He had alleged repeated violations of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement) Act 1954, the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945 on behalf of Patanjali’s Divya Pharmacy. Babu had once again sent the complaint to the State Licensing Authority (SLA) via email on October 11.

According to reports, the order of the ban was issued by the licensing officer of Uttarakhand Ayurvedic and Unani Services, Dr. GCS Jangpangi. He had accused Patanjali of misleading advertisements. Later this news was published by many media houses.

Now the names of those medicines, which are banned
The authority has banned drugs used to treat blood pressure, diabetes, goiter, glaucoma and high cholesterol. Their names are BP Grit, Madhugrit, Thyrogrit, Lipidome and iGrit Gold.

what is written in the order
In this order, the authority has asked Patanjali to seek re-approval on banned drugs after making changes in the formulation sheet and label. That is, the company will be able to produce again only after the approval of the changes. The authority has asked the company to immediately remove the misleading advertisements. Also, it is advised to run any advertisement only after getting permission in future. Failure to do so has also threatened to withdraw the production license. Jangpangi has also sought a response from the company in a week.

Patanjali’s statement – Every medicine is made under the supervision of 500 scientists
In a statement, the company said, “All the products and medicines manufactured at Patanjali follow the prescribed standards in the making. Each product is made in the high level of research and quality of Ayurveda tradition with the help of more than 500 scientists.

The letter, which was circulated by the Ayurveda and Unani Services Uttarakhand on November 9 in a sponsored manner, has not yet been made available to Patanjali Sansthan in any form.

The company has said that either the department should rectify its mistake and take appropriate action against the person involved in the conspiracy, or else the company will take legal action to compensate the people involved as well as the loss caused to Patanjali.
