Olympian Bajrang Punia and Deepak Punia’s coach Virendra Pehalwan have come out on the allegations of sexual harassment against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan. In Haryana’s Jhajjar, Virender Pehalwan said that sportsperson is the pride of the country and if such cases keep coming like this then the father of a common daughter will lose faith in sports. The government should immediately take cognizance of objectionable matters.

Junior coach waiting for justice
Explain that after the allegations of sexual harassment on Brij Bhushan Sharan, more than a dozen wrestlers sat on a dharna at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Coach Virendra Pahalwan has also come in support of players Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik. Talking to reporters, he said that the molestation case of a junior coach by a minister in Haryana is already in the news. In this, the victim is waiting for justice.

Government should take full action
Virender Pahalwan said that if things like molestation and sexual harassment come to the fore then it is a matter of great misfortune for us. The government should take full action on this, complete investigation should be done. This is a very serious matter. If matters continue to arise like this, which father would send his daughters to sports. Our sport is also linked with the security of the nation. If our jawans, young jawans are strong (thade), intelligent then only the country will be protected.
