The weather pattern is going to deteriorate once again in Gujarat. According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. from March 13 to March 16, 17 districts of the state have expressed the possibility of heavy or slow rains. Chance of rain with strong winds in these states
There is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, Dahod, Tapi, Narmada, Surat, Bharuch, Chhota Udepur, Rajkot, Junagadh, Amreli, Surendranagar, Dwarka, Porbandar and Kutch. During rain, wind can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km.

When will it rain in which states

  • On March 13, wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph accompanied by thundershowers would occur at some places including Ahmedabad, Dahod, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Tapi, Narmada, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Kutch.
  • On March 14, wind speed of 30 to 40 km per hour and gale will blow in Narmada, Tapi, Amreli, Rajkot and Kutch.
  • On March 15, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman Dadra Nagar Haveli, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Kutch will see wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph and gale force.
  • On the other hand, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and strong wind in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Patan, Aravalli, Dahod, Mahisagar, Narmada, Dang, Tapi, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Kutch on March 16.

Risk of damage to crops due to unseasonal rains
The Meteorological Department’s warning of unseasonal rain has raised the concern of the farmers. Rabi crop is ready in Gujarat and its harvesting has also started. In such a situation, heavy rains with strong winds can cause heavy damage to the ravi crop. Due to this, instructions have been given to the farmers to shift vegetables, agricultural produce and fodder to a safer place.
