Baby born in Kerala’s transgender couple’s home: gender not revealed, pictures of pregnancy went viral a week ago

A child was born on Wednesday to a transgender couple in Kerala. At nine in the morning in a government hospital in Kozhikode, Jahad gave birth to a child through operation. Jiya Paval shared the photo on social media and informed about it. Pavle said that both Jahad and the child are healthy. However, the couple has refused to reveal the gender of the child.

Let us tell you that a week ago the pictures of Jahad and Jia Paval’s pregnancy went viral on social media. The couple had told that they have been living together for the last three years. This is the first case in the country when a male transgender has given birth to a child.

Jiya Paval is a dancer. She was a man and became a transgender woman. Whereas, Jahad was a girl and he became a male transgender. In order to become pregnant, Jahad stopped the process through which he was changing from female to male.

Jahad will restart the process of becoming a man after giving birth to the child.

“We are about to fulfill my dream of being a mother and my partner’s dream of being a father. An eight-month-old fetus is now in Jahad’s stomach. I was not a woman by birth or body, but I had this dream of someone calling me ‘mother’… It’s been three years since we came together. Like my dream of becoming a mother, Jahad has a dream of becoming a father and today eight months of life is in his stomach with his consent.

When we started living together, we thought our lives should be different from other transgenders. Most of the transgender couples are ostracized by the society and their families. We wanted a child, so that even after our days in this world were over, we would have someone to belong to. When we decided to have a baby, Jahad was undergoing breast removal surgery, which was put on hold for the sake of pregnancy.”

As per media reports, the couple had earlier planned to adopt a child and had also inquired about the process. But the legal process was challenging, as they are a transgender couple. Because of this they had to retreat.

Milk will be fed to the child from breast milk bank
Jia thanked her family and doctors for their support. Jahad will restart the process of becoming a man after giving birth to the child. Jiya had said- We are hopeful of getting milk for the child from the breast milk bank in the medical college.
