Attack on Congress MLA in Gujarat: Angry supporters set on fire; Rahul said – our workers will fight till their last breath

Congress MLA and tribal leader Anant Patel was attacked by some assailants on Saturday night in Navsari, Gujarat. In this, the MLA suffered injuries on the head and near the eye. After the incident, Congress workers set a shop on fire while protesting and also ransacked the fire brigade which reached the spot.

After getting treatment, MLA Anant Patel staged a dharna at the spot and demanded the arrest of the accused. He said- I was going for a meeting at Khergam in Navsari. Then the head of the district panchayat and his goons took me out of the car and beat me, my car was also broken. Here, Rahul Gandhi has condemned the attack on Patel and said that it is the anger of the BJP government.

After the attack on the Congress MLA, the supporters gathered in Khergam of Navsari. The protesters were demanding the arrest of the accused.

Rahul said- BJP made a cowardly attack
After the incident, Rahul Gandhi tweeted, ‘The cowardly attack by the BJP on our MLA Anant Patel ji, who fought for the tribal society against the ‘Par-Tapi River Link Project’ in Gujarat, is condemnable. This is the anger of the BJP government. Every single worker of the Congress party will fight till the last breath for the fight for the rights of the tribals.

Warning to block the highway if there is no arrest
Patel said that we will hold a dharna here till the district panchayat chief and his goons are not caught. Tribals will block highways of 14 districts. Patel said that whoever raises voice in the BJP government is being beaten up and thrown in jail.

Patel alleges that the district panchayat chief and his goons made casteist remarks against him, saying, “You become a tribal leader, tribals will not be allowed to walk here.”

After the attack, Congress MLA from Vansda-Chikhli in Navsari and tribal leader Anant Patel sat on a dharna.

Assurance of arrest within 3 days

Navsari DSP Sanjay Rai said that the complaint of the MLA has been registered. The accused will be arrested within 2-3 days.

Here, Navsari DSP Sanjay Rai told that yesterday 4-5 people attacked Anant Patel. After this, he has sat on a dharna along with his tribal supporters. They have been assured that the culprits will be caught within 3 days and appropriate action will be taken.
