Asia Cup 2022: Indian Cricket Team Unveils ‘New Jersey’ Ahead Of Pakistan Match

New Delhi: Ravindra Jadeja, the all-rounder of the Indian cricket team, was the first player to get a new cricket kit for the Asia Cup. Jadeja has shared a photo in the new jersey of the Indian team, which shows how the new jersey will be. The new jersey was unveiled for the upcoming Asia Cup, scheduled to be played in the UAE from August 27, 2022, to September 11, 2022.

This time in the Asia Cup, team India’s first match is to be against Pakistan on August 28, while in the second match, the Indian team will face Hong Kong on August 31. The Indian team also started its practice on Wednesday after reaching Dubai. Photos and videos of this practice session are going viral on social media. Even today the Indian team conducted a practice session in the evening.

Meanwhile, the BCCI named former cricketer VVS Laxman as interim head coach of the Indian team for the Asia Cup, which begins on Saturday. The development comes after head coach Rahul Dravid could not travel to UAE after testing positive for Covid-19.

VVS Laxman has already joined the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team in Dubai. Laxman served as the coach of the Indian team in the just-concluded three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe

“VVS Laxman, Head Cricket, NCA will be the interim Head Coach for Team India (Senior Men) for the upcoming ACC Asia Cup 2022, to be played in the UAE,” the BCCI said in a statement.

“Laxman, who travelled with the Indian team that played the ODI series in Zimbabwe will oversee the team’s preparation in the absence of Rahul Dravid, who tested positive for Covid-19 before the team’s departure to the UAE. Dravid will join the team once he tests negative and is cleared by the BCCI medical team,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated in a release.
