Ashwini Vaishnaw Approves Eight Big Railway Projects, Watch Report | ABP News

On Friday, the Narendra Modi government approved eight major railway projects aimed at enhancing logistical efficiency by connecting previously isolated regions and improving transportation networks. This move is expected to streamline supply chains and spur economic growth. Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that these projects will significantly benefit aspirational districts and tribal areas, with three projects focusing on southern and western Odisha. These projects will create a corridor linking western and southern Odisha with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, effectively connecting Asansol in West Bengal to Warangal in Telangana. Vaishnaw highlighted that these developments are crucial for economic growth, tourism, employment, and mineral security. They will also provide better connectivity to ports on the eastern coast and generate employment opportunities in tribal regions. The total estimated cost for these projects is ₹24,657 crore.
