Apple is reportedly planning to release the latest watchOS 10.2 update, currently in beta testing, in December. This forthcoming update for Apple watches will introduce new features, address bugs, and include a few enhancements.

According to reports, the upcoming OS update will bring new features like personalised journaling suggestions and improved weather information. It will improve the overall battery performance of the Apple watches.

Additionally, the enhanced Siri integration, will also allow Apple Watch users to send messages or make calls directly from their watches with just a simple voice command. The Cupertino-based tech giant is also preparing a fix for an issue causing some Apple Watches to experience excessive battery drain after being updated to watchOS 10.1.

In the official internal memo, which MacRumors obtained from multiple sources, Apple said the issue will be fixed in a watchOS update that is “coming soon.” Apple did not provide any additional details in the memo, so it is unclear what the underlying cause of the issue is, how many customers are affected, and if every Apple Watch model is impacted, the report said.

To Download watchOS 10.2 Beta Update:

– From your iPhone, go to Settings> General > Software Update, then click Beta Updates and click Choose the Developer beta you’d like to install.

– When a new developer beta is available, you can install it from Software Update.

The company also released watchOS 10.1 update recently, bringing the new double tap gesture, which is only available for Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 users. Double Tap gesture can be used to perform the primary action in notifications and most apps so you can answer a call, play and pause music, stop a timer and more,

With the double tap gesture, users can tap the index finger and thumb of their watch hand together twice to quickly perform many of the most common actions. watchOS 10.1 update also includes NameDrop feature, allowing you to exchange contact information with someone new by simply bringing your Apple Watch near their iPhone with iOS 17 or Apple Watch.
