There are three variants of the Vision Pro available for pre-order: the 256GB base model, the 512GB variant, and the top-end 1TB variant.

Apple Vision Pro, the company’s first mixed-reality headset or “spatial computer,” is now available for pre-order in the United States through both its online and offline retail channels. Those who place orders now will begin receiving deliveries on February 2, the official launch date. However, based on what we observed, deliveries for all variants have already been pushed back to March due to a potential combination of high demand and limited stock.

How to Pre-Order, Variants

If ordering the Vision Pro online, Apple will initially prompt you to scan your face using a FaceID-equipped iPhone or iPad. Only then will you be able to choose your variant and proceed to checkout. This step is taken by Apple to ensure that you receive the correct fit for the Light Seal and headband items, providing the optimal experience. If you choose to purchase offline, Apple specialists at its official stores in the United States will assist you in the same process.

There are three variants of the Vision Pro available: the 256GB base model, the 512GB variant, and the top-end 1TB variant. These are priced at $3,499, $3,699, and $3,899, respectively.

Apple Vision Pro: What’s Inside the Box?

The Vision Pro box includes the headset itself, a Solo Knit Band, Dual Loop Band, a Light Seal, Light Seal Cushion, a cover for the front of the device, a polishing cloth, a 30W USB-C power adapter and cable, and the battery.

For those who require vision correction via glasses, the Vision Pro will require ZEISS Optical Inserts. These inserts magnetically attach to the Vision Pro headset. However, if soft contact lenses are worn, the inserts are not required, as Apple maintains that the Vision Pro is compatible with soft contact lenses.

Apple Vision Pro Specifications and Features

The Apple Vision Pro headset is powered by Apple’s in-house M2 chipset, which is based on a 5nm process and is the company’s second-generation chip. Apple has also introduced a new R1 chip to improve immersion and make virtual objects feel more realistic.

The headset features two micro-OLED screens with a combined resolution of 23 million pixels and a fast refresh rate up to 100Hz, enabling an immersive experience. It runs on visionOS, the iPhone maker’s new three-dimensional operating system specifically designed for this new product line.

Apple has also highlighted the Vision Pro’s entertainment features, partnering with the likes of Disney to bring 3D content to the headset. Through the Apple TV app, users will have access to more than 150 3D movies, including titles such as Avatar: The Way of Water. You can also play games on VisionOS as is, or by connecting a console controller, such as the Sony DualSense.
