Horticulture Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC) products will soon be available at Delhi’s metro station. After the green signal from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), HPMC’s Board of Directors (BOD) has also approved to run 85 outlets at the metro station.

The BOD clearance was necessary because the same firm had come forward in both the tenders to run the outlet. The state government has asked Ayush Consultancy and Service to award the tender.

License agreement will be between DMRC and HPMC
Now soon there will be a license agreement between DMRC and HPMC. Thereafter the selected firm will have to set up 85 outlets at Delhi Metro station within 6 months. This agreement will be for 9 years. It can be extended up to 5 years. Ayush Consultancy and Service will bear the cost of making these outlets. This company will also pay the fare to DMRC. The annual rent of the outlet will be 3.60 crores.

These products will be available on Delhi Metro
Government undertaking HPMC produces products like juice, jam, squash, apple cider vinegar etc. At present, these products are being manufactured at the processing plants of Parwanoo and Jarol. At present it is producing 1000 to 1100 metric tonnes of juice concentrate every year.

The processing plant of Parala is also going to start next year. After this, it is expected to prepare 1700 to 1800 metric tonnes of juice. In view of this, HPMC has started preparing to sell its product in advance. Government undertaking HPMC is expected to earn good from this.

HPMC has 100 Permission was sought at the location
HPMC had sought permission from DMRC to start outlets at 100 metro stations. Out of these, permission has been given for outlets at 85 locations. Separate permission can also be taken at the remaining 15 locations.

HPMC To 5% Agency will pay royalty
According to the agreement, the agency will pay 5 percent royalty to HPMC, while HPMC will provide the products like juice, jam, squash etc. to the agency at retail price. Means HPMC will get income from royalty as well and will also get money from selling the product.
