Amta police have arrested a man from Tiljala area of Kolkata for allegedly threatening the grandfather of slain youth Anis Khan. The victim’s name is Sarwar Hossain.
Recently, Anis’s grandfather lodged a complaint with Amta police station, alleging that someone was threatening him over the phone, demanding a CBI probe into his brother’s death. Things are being threatened in Bengali mixed with Hindi by calling from foreign numbers. After receiving the complaint, the cyber crime branch of Amta police station and Kolkata police started investigation. The investigation revealed that the calls were made from an illegal telephone exchange in Tiljala area. This type of telephone exchange uses foreign phone numbers using VoIP technology to make calls abroad. As a result, it is possible to call different countries at a much lower cost. The use of this technology is banned in India.
After that, the detectives continued to gather the net of investigation. You may know that Sarwar Hossain, the owner of the illegal telephone exchange, is a local youth from Tiljala. Amta police arrested Sarwar Hossain on Sunday after raiding Tiljala with Kolkata police.
