Papalpreet Singh in the custody of Punjab Police.
Papalpreet, the closest aide of Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh, Chief of Waris Punjab De, has been arrested by the police. He was caught from Kathunangal in Amritsar. IG Sukhchain Singh Gill told that NSA has been imposed on Papalpreet. He will be sent to Dibrugarh Jail. The first 6 cases are registered on him.
On the other hand, according to police sources, he wanted to surrender after coming to his village in Amritsar, but before that the Punjab Police and Counter Intelligence nabbed him in a joint operation.
Papalpreet absconded along with Amritpal on March 18. After this he was walking with her like a shadow. Papalpreet and Amritpal were seen together every time after Ferrari. Papalpreet is a resident of Mardi Kalan village of Majitha Halke, Amritsar. His mother was a government teacher and father is involved in agriculture. In 2017, Papalpreet joined Simranjit Singh Mann’s pro-Khalistan party before joining Waris Punjab De. Apart from this, he used to continuously promote the Khalistan Movement on his social media accounts.
Sarbat Khalsa was called in the year 2015 during the Akali Dal government in Punjab. One of its organizers was Papalpreet. In the investigation, the police had booked Papalpreet Singh for sedition for having links with the ISI. Papalpreet’s inflammatory speech was also registered in the FIR registered on November 12, 2015 at Chatiwind police station in Amritsar.
Papalpreet Singh read out the provocative message of Narayan Singh Chowda, a dreaded terrorist of Babbar Khalsa who is in jail. Meanwhile, Jagtar Singh Hawara was appointed as the Jathedar of Akal Takht. Police had registered an FIR against Papalpreet Singh and other organizers under sections 124A, 153-A, 153-B, 115, 117, 120-B and section 13(1) of the UAPA and section 66-F of the Information Technology Act. .
After absconding, 2 videos and an audio have come to the fore in 28 hours of Amritpal. In which he appealed to the Jathedar of Akal Takht to call Sarbat Khalsa at Talwandi Sabo on Baisakhi on April 14. Apart from this, Amritpal also said that he is safe and sound.
