Amit Shah will reach Jammu on a three-day visit today: Will worship at Vaishno Devi temple; Can announce SC status to hills

Amit Shah will reach Jammu and Kashmir today on a three-day visit. On the first day of the Yatra, he will address a public meeting in Rajouri. Along with this, many development projects will be launched there. On the morning of October 4, he will offer prayers at the Vaishno Devi temple. After performing the puja, he will lay the foundation stone of various projects in Jammu. On October 5, he will review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in a meeting to be held at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar. Will also meet different delegations in Srinagar and Baramulla.

Amit Shah’s visit to Jammu was fixed for September 30, but his schedule was changed in view of the continuing terror attacks in the Valley. It was postponed to 27 September.

hills may get ST status
Tight security arrangements have been made in Jammu and Kashmir even before Amit Shah’s arrival. Officials said after visiting Mata Vaishno Devi temple on the morning of October 4, he will fly to Rajouri, where he will address a public meeting. During this, the hills can be declared Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. Rajouri, Handwara, Poonch and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir have a large population of hills.

Shah to hold meeting with LG
Amit Shah will reach Srinagar on the evening of 4 October. Will meet many BJP leaders here. In Srinagar, Shah will attend a high-level meeting with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The meeting will be attended by senior officers of police, CAPFs and intelligence agencies of Jammu and Kashmir and the Centre.

Blast happened 5 days before Shah’s visit

Before the Home Minister’s visit, on September 28, two blasts took place in buses in Udhampur in a span of 8 hours. The first blast took place on Wednesday night at around 10.30 pm in an empty bus parked near the petrol pump at Domel Chowk. 2 people were injured in this.
