Former fast bowler Ajit Agarkar has become the chairman of the selection committee of Team India. The BCCI announced Agarkar’s appointment as a selector in a media briefing released on Tuesday night, although the board had already made preparations to make Agarkar the chief selector.

The 45-year-old former bowler has replaced former cricketer Chetan Sharma. Sharma was removed after a sting operation. In which he was heard claiming that Indian cricketers take injections for fitness.

The new selection committee includes Shivsunder Das, Salil Ankola, Subroto Banerjee and Sreedharan Sarat.
