The flow of water was so strong that they could not get out. Contact with the family was also lost.

On Wednesday, on the information of the family members, the administration called SDRF from Chitrakoot. But when the answers failed in the rescue, the army was called. On Thursday morning, an army team reached the spot and did a mapping for the rescue. After this 2 army helicopters arrived. The soldiers first air-lifted Bhure and Ashok from the small island. Two islands have been built on the Betwa river adjacent to Khadesar village. The farmers of the village have 8 acres of land on the big island. On August 19, Maniram and Hari went to the farm. While Phool Singh alias Bhure and Ashok went for fishing. Bhure’s father Jamuna said, “The water level of the river was low on August 19. So sons Bhure and Ashok went to Chhotu island for fishing. They took two and a half kilos of flour for food. In the evening the water level of the river rose to a great extent and Both got stuck on the island.

no contact with family
Ashok did not have a mobile. Bhure has a mobile, but due to rain, he left it at home. So there was no contact from both of them for 5 days. The water level of the river rose further on Wednesday. This frightened the family. Bhure was also about to jump into the river, but the villagers forbade him by shaking a towel from the river bank.

On Wednesday, the administration team became active on the information of the villagers. SDRF was called but could not rescue. The officers said that there are big stones in the river, so the steamer could not run. If the steamer is dropped into the river, the fan may be damaged. Therefore it is difficult for a steamer to reach the island. After this, the army team took the front on Thursday.
