Congress MLAs from Jharkhand’s Bihar have come to the fore amid fierce demonstrations against ‘Agneepath’, a new model of recruitment in the army. A video of Congress MLA Irfan Ansari has surfaced in which he is heard saying that the country will be ‘soaked in blood’ but we will not allow ‘agneepath’.

The Congress MLA is heard saying, “In eight years you have not given any job, you have not given employment and today you have sold the country. You have sold the rail, you have sold the airplane, you have sold all the factories, you have sold notes. given. Will not let it happen. Earlier also there was opposition to Agneepath, this time also there will be opposition to Agneepath.

Earlier, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had hit out at the Center amid the recent announcement of recruitment of ‘Agniveers’ in the Army under the ‘Agneepath’ scheme and violent protests against it in many parts of the country. On Friday, he took a dig and said that what more can be expected from this ‘sloganveer’ government. However, the BJP immediately retaliated on this, calling him ‘Ghosnaveer’.

Taking a dig at the ‘Agneepath’ plan, Soren tweeted on Friday, “On reinstatement contract and name Agniveer! What else can be expected from this sloganeering government?!!! Wake up, the leaders of the future, wake up!!!’

Countering this, BJP’s National Vice President and former Chief Minister of the state Raghuvar Das called Hemant Soren and his government ‘Ghosnaveer’ and reminded them of the promises made by them to the people of the state. Raghuvar Das retweeted, ‘This preaching does not suit the person of declaration. Those who snatched people’s jobs by promising five lakh jobs in a year and falsely promised to give unemployment allowance are pretending to be benefactors of youth today.

In fact, on Friday, in many areas including Dhanbad, Jamshedpur and Daltonganj of Jharkhand, aspiring youth recruited by the army demonstrated against the Agneepath scheme. Many trains were also stopped during this period. Due to this many trains originating from or passing through the state had to be canceled or diverted.
